April Newsletter 2018

Hello and Welcome to the GPH April Newsletter,

This month is full of more growth and changes here at GPH headquarters.  We have a new face in the office, please help us welcome Kelsey Otis.  Kelsey comes to us chocked full of creativity and fun.  She is proving adept in all areas and soon will be another sweet voice on the line when you call in with questions or for consultations.

This first week of April is National Raw Feeding Week… have you tried it yet?
I know feeding raw sounds scary and confusing, but in reality, it’s not that complicated.  That said, raw is not for every dog, or every home.  There is so much information out there on the internet, I sure hope everyone makes themselves aware and educated before delving into this new wave of feeding our beloved pets.  We have many articles on this in past newsletters as well as links to many on the GPH Facebook page.  I hope you’ll check them out.

We also have this month National Hug Your Dog Day on April 10th followed byNational Pet Day on the 11th.   That’s a whole lot of pet love right there!  We think the best days are "Hug" your pet day.

Included in this month's newsletter is  a customer testimonial that sings the praises ofInflapotion, HerbAprin and Glacier Peak Gold.  It makes us feel so good to hear how GPH Herbal Remedies have made a difference in a pet's life.  In the  Retail Spotlight, we festured Top Knotch Pet Salon located in Lannon, Wisconsin.  If you are lucky enough to live in that area, I hope you’ll pay them a visit.  They are so dedicated to their customers and clients.

Thanks so much for your continued support of our products and services.
Please reach out to us whenever you have any questions.
We are here to help.

Jodi from Eureka, MT sent in a wonderful testimonial this month that touched all our hearts here at GPH.  We are all so happy to hear that Inflapotion and HerbAprinhas helped her senior dog Blackie get his puppy on. Her other dog Stella, no longer needs to be on antibiotics.  Thanks Jodi for sharing the good news!

"Blackie"

My little AmStaff  "Blackie Lynn"  had been diagnosed with  severe arthritis and watching her slow down broke my heart! Knowing how much she loved “ball throwing” season and swimming in the lakes around us, I knew there had to be something better than the veterinarian prescribed Rimadyl. Something that wouldn’t harm her liver and other organs.

Glacier Peak Holistics instantly popped into my head and I started reading, researching and attended presentations and talked to my new holistic veterinarian. Focusing on two products especially, Inflapotion and HerbAprin for Blackie. Her mobility has improved right before my eyes as she wants to be outside and she carries her kong around indicating she's ready to play! Even in the snow she’s been running and catching her ball! On active days now I have added HerbAprin as her body warms up and some discomfort is noticed due to the arthritis. It’s a comfort not just for her but for me as I know I can rely on these products to help my dog enjoy herself and play like she used to.

"Stella"

Then I have “Stella” a beautiful poodle that is such a beautiful and sweet girl. She was a rescue from an animal abuse case last year. What a hot mess she was with extremely yeasty ears and chewing on her paws. A run to the Veterinarian put her on antibiotics that we saw no improvement from. At the presentations, I learned ofGlacier Peak Gold . At this point I already had such great success with Glacier Peak Holistics,  I thought I’d give it a try.

I just mixed it in with her food for 10 days and waited and watched. I saw some improvement with her paw chewing but those ears were still bothering her. So I gave her a 10 day break and started it again. This time I saw her ears clear up, no longer fire red or hot to the touch! We were thrilled! Always keeping this on hand for just in case! I believe in these products, I have seen first hand what they do and I’m just grateful to Glacier Peak Holistics and knowledgeable staff for showing and sharing their awesome products!

Retail Store Spotlight

Located Lannon, Wisconsin, Top Knotch Salon offers quality high-end grooming
by certifiedand experienced groomers you can trust.
Owners Greg and Debbie have over 30 years grooming experience.
If your in the their neighborhood stop by and say hello!

Why did you open a pet grooming salon?  Is it something you always wanted to do?
(Debbie): “I opened my first grooming salon when I was 23. I have always had a lifelong passion for animals. I started training dogs at age 10, and even before that age I knew I wanted to work with animals.”

What do you feel is unique about your salon?
(Debbie/Greg): What we feel is unique to our salon is that aside from my vast knowledge of grooming and styling I’ve acquired over the last 35 years, I really aim to work with clients to make grooming the best experience possible. From extensive puppy training, to understanding health concerns, allergies, and how to work with geriatric and special needs dogs.
We’re sent a lot of older and hard to handle cats and dogs from Vets because I understand the reasons behind their behavioral issues and exactly how to work with each animal. I’ve always been told, from the many teachers in my life and clients as well, that I have a gift to read and handle animals.

We also strive to help my clients have the healthiest pets they can. I noticed many years ago that allergies were popping up on way too many of my clients, and vets were prescribing band aids. Allergy drugs were killing livers and internal organs, not curing allergies. So I did my research and stumbled upon Glacier Peak Holistics. We started to offer the Pet Wellness Life Stress Scans and those scans alone have saved so many of my clients lives. Not to mention the variety of other products that continue to keep up the health of our beloved animals.

What seems to be the main concerns of the pet parents that walk into your store?
We have a lot of health concerns coming to us. The number one problem we run into is yeast build up on skin and in ears. Itchy, dry, and patchy skin is a close second. We also get so many clients with torn ACL’s in dogs of all ages. As I said earlier, we do a lot of geriatric dogs, so arthritis is also a largely prevalent issue.

Do you have a success story to share about how the GPH Pet Wellness Life Stress Scan and/ or products have helped a dog or cat get back into balance?
Sadie is one of our regular Shih-Tzu clients. She had been coming to me for about 6 years. Between grooming visits, Sadie’s hair began to completely fall out. She was pulling all of her hair off her body. Her mom took her to the vet but they didn’t know what was wrong. Then Sadie’s skin turned bright red and was extremely hot to the touch. Sadie’s Mom didn’t want to bring her to the salon without knowing what was wrong first. The Vets couldn’t figure out the problem and finally Sadie’s Mom turned to us.

By the time she brought Sadie to me, her back was lined with scabs and it looked as if she would never grow hair again. I immediately did a Pet Wellness Life Stress Scan on Sadie and her mom was shocked at the results. She seemed to have sensitivities to everything she was eating. They changed her diet, got her on Inflapotion for inflamed skin, Daily Defense for detox and building her immune system, and lastlyColloidal Silver and Mountain Salve for skin relief.   Sadie is now looking great, growing all of her hair back, it was truly a remarkable recovery.

On top of Sadie’s amazing story, Inflapotion has saved so many dogs lives. It gives hurting dogs of all ages the ability they need to be comfortable and active. I have never seen anything like this. People want to take it themselves after they see the incredible change in their dogs lives!

Do you have a Holistic Vet that you refer people to if needed?
We have a few up and coming holistic vets in our area, and even a traditional vet leaning towards holistics, that we are beginning to build relationships with. Currently we refer clients to Integrated Vet Services if needed.

Do you work with any local animal charities?
We groom for charity for the comfort dogs of Milwaukee Lutheran, for dogs transitioning from foster homes, and for the surrounding areas K-9 units.

What are your plans for the future?
Continuing to educate our clients on natural pet health and giving them the tools they need to succeed with Glacier Peak Holistics, and healthy diets for truly happy, healthy pets!
