Making Miracles Happen... Natually!
Message from the Pack Leader:
Hello October!
We have so many exciting things happening this month, it’s hard to know where to begin.Deb, Ellia and Krieger We are going to start a new “Did You Know” series of Facebook live videos, complete with Krieger and Ellia in the background, doing what they do best, being really cute. We have answers to questions that you may or may not have thought of yet. This is our chance to offer up what we’ve learned and discovered, and help you create the best life for your pet. There should be plenty of laughs and hopefully, lots of useful information. Please feel free to go to our Facebook page and post your questions. Let’s have some fun learning how to best care for our besties.
I know I mentioned last month about the AHVMA conference Traci and I attended in September, but the effects are still happening. We met so many wonderful professionals there, and our “Find a Vet” page is expanding rapidly. We really encourage our pet parent customers to find a Holistic Veterinarian in their area before they “need” one. I can’t tell you how important it is to have a professional care giver available. One of the great things about Holistic Veterinarians, is that they focus on the “whole” animal, not just the symptoms, so actual healing is so much closer than you may think.
I often hear, “I’ve already spent thousands of dollars and my dog/cat is still itchy.” To that I’d like to say… come to us first rather than as a last resort. We have answers and tools for your tool box that have a proven track record and now we have veterinarians using our protocol in their practices. That, to me, is the best of the best! Life is too short to be miserable, whether you have 2 legs or 4.
Did you see the photos of the little girl named Shyla last month on our Facebook page? Well, we have the store responsible for her recovery up in the spotlight this month. The store is called "Woof Life" and they are in Crown Point, IN. Lucky for you if you live near them, but our goal is to have stores just like them all over the country, so everyone will have access to all the information they need to find products and professional help when called for.
Thanks to all of you for sharing in our goal of “How many animals are better tonight because of what we did today.”

This month we are featuring one of our retailers - Leslie Cook of "Woof Life" in Crown Point, Indiana. We hope you enjoy Leslie's story, and if you live close, please stop by her store and say "Hi."
GPH: Why did you open up an Independent Pet Store? Is it something you always wanted to do?Woof Life!I had wanted to work with dogs and cats since I was a very little girl, but it took me a long time to find the right venue. I started out working in retail at 18 and then changed careers thinking I never wanted to go back to retail. My mother always suggested I open my own Boutique, however she was suggesting the clothing Industry which was not what I wanted. I was working in the IT field when I adopted my Havanese and began spoiling him rotten at the local pet boutique.
After the 2007 pet food recalls, I developed a passion for knowledge regarding pet food. I wanted my dog spoiled rotten and fed well, he was the love of my life. The more I learned, the more passionate I became about the health of our pets. I was learning to be a better advocate for their health care in every realm.
In 2009 I married my husband and moved to Crown Point, IN. There was no little boutique here full of knowledgeable staff like their was in my previous home. I had just been laid-off from my employer and was trying to decide what I wanted to do next, when my husband said,"It's time to open your own business" and Woof Life was born.
GPH: What do you feel is unique about your store?
Woof Life is my happy place. I want it to be a happy place for each of my customers as well. We try to make sure that every customer learns something new every time they visit. This requires myself and my staff to be constantly learning how we can help pets better, and provide better products.
GPH: What seems to be the main concerns of the pet parents that walk into your store?
The number one problem we deal with is the itchy dog.
GPH: Do you have a success story to share about how the GPH Pet Wellness Life Stress Scan and/ or products have helped a dog or cat get back into balance? We have used the Stress Scan and the protocol with great success in our own dogs as well as our customer's. The itching declines and the pet becomes much healthier and happier very quickly, without the typical prescriptions that have terrible side effects. Our biggest success so far has been Shyla, our test dog. Shyla, a chihuahua, had become a hairless, yeasty dog, with open sores all over her body. She was depressed and and no longer enjoying her little life. Her owners had tried everything, traditionally and holistically, nothing was helping. We noticed improvements in Shyla immediately and they have continued over time. Almost all of her fur has returned. She is a happy and playful dog on the road to recovery. We have worked very closely with Traci at GPH and all of the staff has gone above and beyond to help us make sure we see success with every pet possible.
GPH: Do you have a Holistic Vet that you refer people to if needed?
We have several Integrative vets in our area that we refer customers to when in need. The closest one carries the products and has seen the success that we have seen.
GPH: Do you work with any local animal charities?
We work with several dog and cat rescues that are in the area and donate food and products to them regularly.
We want to sincerely thank Leslie Cook for taking the time to answer these questions and share her story with all of us. ~ the GPH Pack
