What Comes in the Glacier Peak Holistics Pet Intolerance Test Kit?

on

When your Glacier Peak Holistics Pet Intolerance Test arrives, you'll find the essential materials needed to collect and package your pet's hair and saliva samples from the comfort of home.

The process is designed to be simple to complete at home. Before sending anything back, however, there are a few important steps to follow. This includes registering your unique test code and properly labeling your sample bag.

Here’s exactly what comes inside your Pet Intolerance Test Kit and what each item is used for.

Inside your kit:

  1. Instruction Booklet
  2. “Register Test” Card with Unique Barcode
  3. Three Organic Cotton Swabs
  4. Biohazard Sample Bag
  5. Return Shipping Bag & Prepaid Label (U.S. Only)
  6. Mandatory Registration Checklist

Important for international customers: Prepaid return shipping is only included with orders within the United States. International customers are responsible for return shipping costs and any applicable duties or fees.

1. Instruction Booklet

Your instruction booklet walks you through the entire testing process, from registering your test to collecting your pet’s samples and mailing them to our facility.

Keep the booklet nearby while completing your test, especially when you are ready to collect your pet’s hair and saliva samples.

The instructions also include additional mailing information for international customers.

2. “Register Test” Card With Your Unique Barcode

Every Pet Intolerance Test includes a registration card with a unique barcode and test code assigned to your kit.

This code connects the samples you send to the registration information you submit online.

Register your test before mailing your samples

Before sending your samples, visit GPHtest.com and complete the Electronic Registration & Disclaimer using the unique code found directly beneath the barcode on your card.

Your code may contain a combination of letters and numbers.

Do not mail your samples before registering your test. Registration allows our team to properly associate the samples we receive with your pet and your contact information.

We also recommend keeping your registration card for reference after you mail your samples.

After entering your unique code, follow the registration instructions carefully, including adding your return shipping tracking number and agreeing to the Registration Terms. Your registration is officially complete when a green checkmark appears on the screen. Be sure to finish this process before mailing your samples.

3. Three Organic Cotton Swabs

Your kit includes three organic cotton swabs for collecting your pet’s saliva sample.

When removing the swabs from the biohazard bag, handle them carefully and only touch one end. The opposite end will be used to collect saliva from inside your pet’s mouth.

You can use all three swabs at once or collect the sample with them one at a time.

After collecting the saliva, place the swabs back into the biohazard bag with the wet ends positioned toward the bottom of the bag.

4. Biohazard Sample Bag

The biohazard bag is where you will place both your pet’s saliva swabs and hair sample for return to Glacier Peak Holistics.

There is also important information to complete on the outside of the bag.

Fill out all requested information on the biohazard bag before mailing your samples. In order for our team to receive and process your samples correctly, it is important that all requested information is provided.

Once the saliva swabs and hair are inside, securely close the bag using the zip closure.

5. Return Shipping Bag & Prepaid Label for U.S. Customers

Once your pet's hair and saliva samples are sealed inside the biohazard bag, place the entire bag into the provided return shipping mailer.

For customers within the United States, the return shipping bag includes a prepaid USPS return label, making it easy to send your samples back to our facility.

Before mailing your samples, be sure to:

  • Write your return address on the outside of the mailer.
  • Take a picture of your tracking number for your records.
  • Enter your tracking number during the online test registration process at GPHtest.com.
  • Drop off your completed package at your local Post Office.

What about international Pet Intolerance Test orders?

Prepaid return shipping labels are not included with international orders.

International customers are responsible for the cost of shipping their samples back to Glacier Peak Holistics, as well as any applicable duties or fees.

Please refer to the international mailing section of your instruction booklet for the current return address and shipping recommendations before mailing your samples.

6. Mandatory Registration Checklist

Your Pet Intolerance Test Kit also includes a Mandatory Registration Checklist to help you verify that all necessary materials are included and that you've completed the required steps before mailing your samples.

The checklist serves as a final reminder to register your test, enter your tracking information, collect your pet's samples, and complete all requested information on the biohazard bag.

Missing or incomplete registration information may lead to delayed or lost results. Before mailing your samples, confirm that your online registration is complete and that the green checkmark has appeared on the screen.

How to Collect Your Pet’s Samples

Collecting your pet's samples at home is simple and requires just a few steps.

Collecting Saliva: Use the three organic cotton swabs provided to gently swab the inside of your pet's mouth. For best results, collect saliva before your pet eats or at least one hour after their last meal.

Collecting Hair: Only a small amount of hair is needed, approximately the size of a quarter. You can collect it by:

  • Using a clean, unused brush or comb that hasn't come into contact with another pet or person.
  • Gently gathering a small amount of shedding hair.
  • Trimming a small amount of hair from the rump or chest area.

Have a hairless pet? Thoroughly saturate the cotton swabs with saliva. The test can still be completed without a hair sample.

Once collected, place the swabs and hair inside the biohazard bag, complete all requested information on the outside, and securely close it using the zip closure.

Always follow the complete sample collection instructions provided in your kit before mailing your samples.
