How To Collect Samples

  • A golden retriever lies calmly while a person snips off a small hair sample

    Hair Sample

    Trim off a quarter-sized amount of hair. Hairless pets can submit a saliva sample alone.

  • Hands using a swab to collect a sample from a golden retriever dog's mouth.

    Saliva Sample

    Hold in the center of the swab and rub along the pet’s gum line and cheek area. Repeat for each swab, or use all three at once.

  • Hands putting pet's 3 cotton swab samples into labeled biohazard bag.

    Mail Test

    Place both hair & saliva samples in the biohazard bag. Then, place the biohazard bag in the self-addressed return envelope and send it to us!
